About Us

Sunset Memorial Gardens Jamestown ND

Our Story

Sunset Memorial Gardens of Jamestown has been serving families in Jamestown, North Dakota since 1955. Established as a perpetual care cemetery, Sunset was thoughtfully designed as a park-like setting that offers peace, dignity, and lasting beauty for generations.

Located on 25 acres along State Highway 20 just north of Jamestown, Sunset Memorial Gardens was created with a distinctive garden plan requiring flush bronze-on-granite memorials. This design ensures a clean, uniform landscape that is both beautiful and easy to maintain year-round.

In 2005, a cherished piece of North Dakota history became part of our grounds. The former Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Fried, ND (which served its rural community from 1898 to 2004) was carefully relocated to Sunset Memorial Gardens. Today, it stands as All Souls Prairie Chapel, offering a sacred, non-sectarian space for prayer services, memorial gatherings, weddings, and special occasions.

For over 50 years, Sunset Memorial Gardens was faithfully operated under the leadership of Geraldine Krebsbach, whose dedication shaped the foundation of care and service that continues today.

A Perpetual Care Cemetery

Sunset Memorial Gardens is proud to be a perpetual care cemetery in Jamestown, ND.

Twenty percent (20%) of every grave space or interment right sold is deposited into an irrevocable perpetual care trust fund. These funds are legally protected and ensure that the cemetery grounds will be maintained in perpetuity, meaning forever.

This perpetual care commitment provides families peace of mind knowing that:

  • Grounds maintenance continues year after year
  • Landscaping and mowing are professionally managed
  • The garden plan design is preserved
  • Future generations will experience the same dignity and care

Our regulations are thoughtfully enforced to protect all lot owners collectively and to preserve the long-term beauty of Sunset Memorial Gardens.
